The city of Nagpur witnessed a major milestone in sports on June 21, 2025, as the Gondwana Club hosted the grand opening of its first-ever organized pickleball league. The Gondwana Club Pickleball League 2025 began with much excitement, bringing the fast-growing sport to center stage.
The opening ceremony was led by President Jatin Kale, with Treasurer Parth Majumdar, Committee Members Abhishek Thakur and Priyam Daga, and all eight team owners in attendance. Club members also gathered to support the event.

The league features eight teams, each owned by well-known residents of Nagpur. Matches are scheduled across singles, doubles, and mixed doubles categories, offering a variety of gameplay styles and team strategies.

Opening Day Matches
The first match of the season saw Dink & Drive win an exciting game against SDS Pickle Pros. The second scheduled match between Gondwana Royals and Nagpur Mavericks was postponed due to rain and will be played the next day.
Promoting Pickleball in Nagpur
The Gondwana Club’s goal is to make pickleball a regular part of the city’s sports scene. The league aims to give local players a chance to grow and learn while also encouraging new fans to join in the fun.
