The World Pickleball League (WPBL) has announced the launch of “WPBL On Tour,” a new off-season tournament series to take place across six cities in India over the next four months. This initiative is designed to promote pickleball at the local level and strengthen community participation.
Each WPBL franchise will host a tournament in its home city, with help from the League for planning, marketing, and funding. These tournaments will be open to amateur players and fans, giving them a chance to play under their city’s team name and feel the excitement of WPBL events.

Building on Season 1 Success
The success of Season 1 showed that interest in pickleball is growing fast in India. The League now hopes to build on that momentum by giving fans and players more chances to connect with the game year-round.

A New Way to Keep Fans Engaged
This is the first time a professional sports league in India is launching a tour like this during its off-season. WPBL hopes that “WPBL On Tour” will help build long-term connections with fans, even when the main tournament is not happening.
