Why Indian Hotels Are Racing to Add Pickleball and Padel Courts—And What It Means for Your Next Stay

Indian Hotels Boutique Sports Pickleball Courts: Indian hotels are quickly adding Pickleball and Padel courts to attract health-focused travellers. Many luxury and mid-range properties are turning old leisure spaces into active sports areas. This change reflects a strong desire among guests to blend fitness, fun, and social experiences during their stays.

Hotels Shift Focus to Boutique Sports

More than 1,000 Pickleball courts and over 100 Padel courts now operate across India. This number keeps growing. Nasir Ali, Founder and CEO of Gallant Sports and Infra, shared that demand is high.

“The growing popularity of Pickleball and Padel among Indian consumers is driving a noticeable rise in interest across sectors.”

He explained that hotels want to create special experiences that help guests feel connected and active.

Different hotels have different styles. Luxury properties use glass walls and branded equipment. Mid-range hotels prefer flexible spaces with bright designs.

“Setting up these courts involves smart space planning, premium surfacing, and weather-resilient infrastructure,” (Nasir Ali).

He added that a Pickleball court needs about 2,000 to 2,500 square feet, while a Padel court requires nearly 6,000 square feet. Costs range from ₹20–50 lakhs.

Fitness, Fun, and Longer Stays

Harshal Dilwali, Director and CEO at Clarissa Resorts, said the trend goes beyond adding a court.

“Today’s travellers are increasingly seeking active, wellness-oriented experiences over traditional, passive leisure.”(Harshal Dilwali)

. He believes that sports like Pickleball and Tennis appeal to all ages. These activities help guests relax, improve health, and make memories.

“They’re inclusive and engaging across age groups,”.

At Minimalist Hotels in Delhi’s Kailash Colony, a new Pickleball court has been installed. Gautam Munjal, Founder of Minimalist Hotels, explained, “The decision to include a Pickleball court was about more than adding an amenity. It reflects our commitment to creating a lifestyle hub where community, creativity, and well-being intersect.”

Changing the Way Hotels Welcome Guests

This movement shows that Indian hotels are working hard to keep up with global travel trends. They want to offer more than just nice rooms or big buffets. Guests now expect spaces for community games and activities that improve health.

As more hotels add these courts, travellers in India will see more options for staying active and social on their trips.
