Armaan Bhatia Indian Pickleball Triumphs: Indian pickleball player Armaan Bhatia won his second straight APP Tour title by defeating Patrick Kawka of Poland in the men’s singles final at the Newport Beach Open on Monday morning. This win adds to his rising profile as he hopes to spend more time competing in the United States.
Earlier this year, Armaan Bhatia made history by becoming the first Indian pickler to win an APP Tour singles title at the New York City Open. In that event, he beat Alex Crum in a tense match that ended 15-10, 27-25. Alex Crum recently signed a deal with the PPA Tour, one of the top leagues in professional pickleball.
Strong Results Across Events
At the New York City Open, Armaan Bhatia also earned a bronze medal in men’s doubles. Before that, he was runner-up at the Vlasic Classic in Cincinnati after losing to Grayson Goldin in the singles final. That silver medal was another first for an Indian player on the APP Tour.
In the US Open Pickleball Championships, Armaan Bhatia showed his skills in doubles by taking bronze alongside Harsh Mehta. He has also proven himself internationally. At the 2025 Stage 1 D-Joy Pickleball Tour in Vietnam, he won gold in mixed doubles.

Future Goals and Plans
Armaan Bhatia, who is ranked No. 13 on the APP Tour and is India’s top player, has clear plans for the future. He wants to join the PPA Tour and Major League Pickleball, which offer more financial support and visibility.
“I have been in conversation with the PPA and the UPA for a bit and then we have not spoken a lot in the recent few weeks. But I am keen to play,” Armaan Bhatia told The Dink Pickleball vodcast.
Bhatia is not yet eligible to play on the PPA Tour because he is still an unsigned player.
“My team and I are reviewing all possibilities to see what is going to be the best for me through this year. But if that does not happen this year, I am happy doing the APP and the international stuff for this year and then we can see what next year holds for me,” he added.
More Opportunities Ahead
Armaan Bhatia’s next chance to shine will be the APP Next Kansas City event, which starts on July 17. He plans to keep showing his consistency and talent so he can secure a place in the PPA Tour in the future.
His success has inspired other Indian pickleball players to aim higher. If he continues winning, he could open new doors for himself and other athletes from India.
