Young Indian Stars Set Sights on Glory at Asian Junior Pickleball Championship in Vietnam

Team India is all set to represent the country at the Asian Junior Pickleball Championship in Vietnam from July 13 to 16, 2025. The All India Pickleball Association (AIPA) has selected 32 young players to compete in Under-12, Under-14, Under-16, and Under-18 categories at the international event.

Team India Heads to Vietnam

The Asian Junior Pickleball Championship will see a strong Indian presence, with players from states like Maharashtra, Haryana, Kerala, Punjab, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand, and Bihar. This shows how much the sport has grown across the country, especially among young athletes.

After a strong performance at the last championship, where India won several medals, the team is hopeful for more success. These players have been training hard and are excited to compete on the big stage.

Flag-Off Ceremony to Celebrate Young Athletes

AIPA held a special flag-off ceremony on July 11, 2025, to honor the team. Chief Guest Pravin Amre, a former Indian cricketer, attended the event. Also present were Rahul Vira, CEO of Skechers; Sunil Valavalkar, who brought pickleball to India in 2007; and Mandira Bedi, AIPA’s Pickleball Brand Ambassador.

The event filled the young athletes with pride and motivation. They received wishes and encouragement as they prepared to leave for Vietnam.

Standout Players Across All Divisions

The Indian team features many promising players. In the Under-12 Boys, Arav Surve and Arnav Khamkar will represent India. Adiya Vinod is part of the Under-12 Girls squad. Aarish Aga Chaubey and Aaradhya Satpute are key players in the Under-14 category.

Top talents in the Under-16 and Under-18 groups include Jigar Vishwakarma, Shreyas Rajaram, Avya Nandargame, Parth Vijayvargiya, Anjali Pol, and Aditya Gupta. All are ready to give their best at the championship.

Voices of Confidence and Hope

Speaking at the event, AIPA President Arvind Prabhoo said, “Our junior players have shown remarkable resilience, discipline, and passion. Their selection and participation in this championship reflect AIPA’s growing focus on building a strong talent pipeline and putting India on the global pickleball map. We are confident they will carry forward our legacy with courage and grace.”

AIPA Founder and Senior Vice President Sunil Valavalkar added, “We have always believed that the future of Indian pickleball lies in its youth. These young athletes represent not just talent, but also the dreams of millions who are discovering this sport across the country. I’m proud of how far we’ve come — and even prouder of where this new generation will take us.”

AIPA’s Role in Developing Indian Pickleball

The All India Pickleball Association has played a key role in promoting the sport across the country. It has held many national and international events, including the World Pickleball Championship Series in Mumbai in 2024, where India won 28 medals, including 11 gold.

With year-round training camps, scouting programs, and support for young players, AIPA is helping to build a strong future for pickleball in India.

Looking Ahead

As Team India travels to Vietnam, the country is full of hope and support for its young athletes. This championship is not just a test of skill but a chance to shine on the global stage and show how far Indian pickleball has come in just a few years.
