Hyderabad Pickleball Coaching Clinic Event: The Amateur Telangana Pickleball Association (ATPA) and the All India Pickleball Association (AIPA) held a two-day Pickleball Clinic for coaches and referees on July 19 and 20 at the LB Stadium Indoor Hall in Hyderabad. The event drew strong participation, with 70 people attending the coaching sessions and 72 taking part in referee training. The clinic aimed to improve skills and spread the sport across Telangana and other parts of India.
Strong Response to the Two-Day Clinic
The event was led by M. Ramesh, Indian Police Service officer and President of the Amateur Telangana Pickleball Association. Under his guidance, the sessions were held smoothly. The main goal was to create more trained coaches and referees to help pickleball grow in India.
Important guests present as Guests of Honour included Dr. T. Dasarada Rami Reddy, Senior Vice President of the Amateur Telangana Pickleball Association; Dr. Ravi Kumar, Administrator of LB Stadium; and Dr. Ch. Raja Rao, Principal of Government College of Physical Education in Domalguda.
Training Led by Top Experts
The sessions were a mix of classroom learning and hands-on court experience. They were led by Chetan Sanil, Secretary General of the All India Pickleball Association, and Ajay Chaudhari, a training expert from the Asian Pickleball Federation.
Participants were taught coaching methods, rules of the game, how to officiate matches, and how to make quick decisions during play. Everyone was tested and scored based on their performance.
Steps Toward Building Pickleball in India
By grading the attendees, the clinic helped form a group of certified coaches and referees. These trained individuals can now help introduce the game to more people at local and national levels.
The Amateur Telangana Pickleball Association hopes that this clinic will push pickleball to become a major sport in Telangana and across the country.
