While talking on the Sony Sports Network, former Indian captain Sunil Gavaskar mentioned that he owns a part of a pickleball team. He co-owns the Dilli Dillwale franchise in the World Pickleball League with his son Rohan Gavaskar.
Cheteshwar Pujara, who was also part of the broadcast, jokingly asked Gavaskar if he could join the team.
“Can you hire me in one of your team?” Cheteshwar Pujara asked as Gavaskar made the revelation.
In response, Gavaskar replied with humor.
“Anytime. You make up your mind. Yesterday you were signed by Manchester United. Now you want to be signed by our team. We’ll give you a contract. Don’t worry. If Manchester United can give him a contract, then even I can give him one,” Gavaskar said.

Cheteshwar Pujara had recently visited the Manchester United football stadium, Old Trafford. The Indian cricket team also toured the club’s training facility ahead of the fourth Test match. During their visit, players met Manchester United figures like Ruben Amorim and Bruno Fernandes.

India drew the fourth Test against England at Old Trafford in Manchester. England leads the five-match series 2-1. The final Test match will be held at The Oval in London, starting Thursday, July 31.
