Double Gold Drama: Spandan PV Shines as Champions Emerge at Bengaluru’s PRO40 Pickleball Tournament

PRO40 Pickleball Tournament Bengaluru Winners: Spandan PV won two gold medals at the first PRO40 Pickleball Tournament, held in Bengaluru by the Karnataka Pickleball Association under the Indian Pickleball Association (IPA). The event saw intense competition across categories, highlighting pickleball’s growing popularity in Karnataka.

Men’s Doubles and Mixed Doubles Wins

In the men’s doubles final, Spandan PV and Anurag Barmecha, seeded seventh, defeated top seeds Rashein Samuel and Rishi Reddy 11-8. The pair had earlier dominated the semifinals with an 11-2 win over Gowtham Ramesh and Ranjit Kupil.
Spandan’s second gold came in the mixed doubles with Kasturi Vighne. They defeated Kavya J and Akash Shivshankar 11-3 in the final after beating Harsh Pancholi and Prerana Pratap 11-5 in the semifinal.

Men’s and Women’s Singles Titles

Rishi Reddy, after losing in the doubles final, bounced back in the men’s singles. He beat his doubles partner Rashein Samuel 12-10 in a close final to claim the title.
In the women’s singles, Shreya Bhumireddy emerged champion with an 11-6 win over Kavya J. Shreya had earlier beaten Kasturi Vighne 11-4, while Kavya overcame Neha Arora 11-7 in the semifinals.

Veteran Winners

The tournament also included veteran categories. Vishwanath Shankar won the 35+ men’s singles, while Dinesh Thampi Somnath secured the 50+ men’s singles title.

The tournament not only crowned new champions but also showcased the sport’s fast rise in Karnataka. With strong performances across age groups, events like this are expected to attract more players and grow pickleball’s presence in the state.
