Oxbridge Alumni Pickleball Tournament India: The Oxbridge Alumni Pickleball tournament will bring together graduates of Oxford University and the University of Cambridge for a day of competition and community in New Delhi. The event will be held on Sunday at Rackonnect Exclusive Padel Pickle Park (REPPP) in Mehrauli, recognized as a PWR 50 event by the Indian Pickleball Association (IPA).
A Celebration of Legacy and Sport
More than 60 players will take part in the event. Alumni from leading universities in the United Kingdom and the United States will also compete. The tournament combines friendly rivalry with the goal of reconnecting graduates while promoting wellness through pickleball.
The initiative is led by Samriti Sood, a cybersecurity professional and University of Oxford graduate. She explained her vision for the tournament.
“The idea is to engage Oxford, Cambridge and UK alumni communities in India with pickleball and promotes the sport and wellness among them,” Samriti said.
She added that the sport offers more than fitness.
“Pickleball is popular globally and being embraced in India among people as a form of wellness sport and engaging with friends and new people.”

Why Pickleball?
Samriti highlighted the sport’s community-building power.
“It helps build communities of like minded people who enjoy the sport and want to connect,” she said.
She also emphasized that the event honors tradition while celebrating sport.
“It is the seamless union of two great legacies – Oxford and Cambridge – distilled into a name: Oxbridge,” Samriti said.
Notable Names Among Participants
The event will feature key figures in India’s pickleball scene. Aditya Khanna, co-founder of the Pickleball World Ranking (PWR), will compete alongside his brother, Ashish Khanna. Both have played important roles in shaping pickleball’s competitive presence in the country.
“As an alumnus of the University of Oxford, I am especially looking forward to reconnecting with old friends, making new ones, and enjoying the spirit of friendly competition. No better way to bring people together than through sport, laughter, and shared memories,” said Aditya Khanna.
More Than a Tournament
While the competition is expected to be strong, organizers say the focus is on connection and community.
“This event serves as a platform for networking and building meaningful connections,” Samriti explained. “It brings together alumni from Oxford, Cambridge, and other leading universities in the US and UK communities in India, while also promoting sports, wellness, and camaraderie among participants.”
Instead of cash prizes, winners will take home trophies and recognition, with the real reward being friendships and lasting bonds.
Looking Ahead
The Oxbridge Alumni Pickleball is set to become more than a one-day event. With growing interest in the sport and the presence of alumni from top global institutions, the tournament highlights how pickleball is uniting people while rising in popularity across India.
