Indian Pickleball Association Team India Trials: The Indian Pickleball Association (IPA) will hold its first-ever national trials to select Team India for the Pickleball World Cup. The trials will take place on August 30–31 at the IPA Centre of Excellence in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. The World Cup will be held in Florida, USA, from October 27 to November 2.

First-Ever Official Team India
This will be the first time India sends an official pickleball team to compete at the global level. Players will be chosen in three categories – Under-16, Open, and 50+. Those selected will represent India in national colours at the prestigious event.
An 18-member team will be picked:
Under-16: 2 boys, 2 girls
Open: 3 men, 3 women
50+: 2 men, 2 women
Staff: 2 coaches, 2 managers
IPA Gains Recognition
This milestone comes after the IPA was recognised as a National Sports Federation (NSF) by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports. The recognition has given IPA official authority to manage and grow pickleball in India.
Suryaveer Singh Bhullar, president of the IPA, expressed excitement about the development.
“With the IPA finally achieving NSF status, we are thrilled to be sending our first-ever official Team India to an international competition,” (Suryaveer Singh Bhullar).
He added,
“We are confident that our players will excel and make the nation proud at the Pickleball World Cup. The development of pickleball in India has reached a new height, and this is a significant step forward for the sport.”
A New Pathway for Players
The selection trials are expected to draw India’s top pickleball talent. By offering a direct route to global competition, the IPA is creating a structured pathway for young and experienced players to showcase their skills internationally.
