India’s Pickleball Pioneers: Meet the Trailblazers Chasing Gold at Their First World Cup

India Pickleball World Cup Debut: Rakshika Ravi, Sindoor Mittal, and Aman Patel are among the eight players who secured spots in Team India for the Pickleball World Cup on the first day of the national trials in Ahmedabad. The historic event marked the beginning of India’s journey to the World Cup in Florida, USA, from October 27 to November 2, 2025.

Eight Players Qualify on Day 1

The trials were held at the Indian Pickleball Association’s (IPA) National Centre for Excellence. Over 140 players from across India entered, but only eight advanced on Day 1. Along with Rakshika Ravi and Sindoor Mittal in women’s doubles, Aman Patel claimed men’s singles. Other winners included Amrita Mukherjee in women’s singles, Dhiren Patel and Suraj Desai in men’s doubles, and young players Aayra Khanna and Anushka Chhabaria in the U16 girls’ category.

Ravi and Mittal Aim for Gold

Nineteen-year-old Rakshika Ravi, who played in the first World Cup in Lima, Peru, in 2024, was thrilled to make the team again.

“I am feeling very happy that I took part in the selection trials with my partner (Sindoor Mittal), and we won. This is a great feeling that IPA is sending us to represent Team India. Last year, the World Cup was held in Peru, I represent India there as well. There was a lot of competition, so I am expecting an intense competition this time as well, and we are determined to come back home winning the trophy,” she said.

Her partner, Sindoor Mittal, celebrated becoming a two-sport international athlete.

“This is actually the second time I will be representing India at the international level. 20 years back when I was a swimmer I had represented India. So, I am very proud that I will be the first person to represent India at the global level for the second time in a different sport. This is very important for me, and we are very confident of winning the gold medal,” she said.

Patel Creates History

For Aman Patel, qualifying in men’s singles was a proud moment.

“I am very confident about my chance at the Pickleball World Cup because of the way I am playing. And this is a big honour for me to represent India in the US. There will be players from several countries competing at the event, and I am confident of winning the gold medal,” he said.
