Tamil Nadu Pickleball U12 Champions: Aashrithaa, Ritanyaasri SK, Suhaan Golecha, and Daivik Sriram emerged as champions in the Under-12 category at the 7th Tamil Nadu State Championship Pickleball, an Indian Pickleball Association (IPA) sanctioned PWR 100 event. The competition took place at the Picklers Arena in Chennai over two weekends, September 6-7 and 13-14, and highlighted the rise of young talent in the sport.
Women’s Doubles Victory for Aashrithaa and Ritanyaasri
Aashrithaa and Ritanyaasri SK clinched the Women’s Doubles U12 crown with an unbeaten run in the round-robin format. The pair began with a commanding 11-1 win over Sasi and Saga, then defeated Paviksha Sathiyamoorthy and Kriya Sathiyamoorthy 11-5. They sealed their campaign by overcoming Somesh Kavya and Sarah AP.

Paviksha Sathiyamoorthy and Kriya Sathiyamoorthy claimed silver, while Sasi and Saga settled for bronze. This was Aashrithaa’s second gold medal at the event after her success in singles.
Aashrithaa Takes Women’s Singles Title
In the Women’s Singles U12 final, Aashrithaa defeated Kriya Sathiyamoorthy 11-6 to secure the title. Earlier, she beat Niyathi Nishanth 11-4 in the semifinal. Niyathi Nishanth later won bronze with an 11-6 victory over Rakshana in the playoff.

Her back-to-back titles in singles and doubles made her one of the standout players of the tournament.
Daivik and Suhaan Clinch Men’s Doubles
In the Men’s Doubles U12 category, Daivik Sriram and Suhaan Golecha lifted the trophy with an 11-3 win in the final against R Ruhaan and A Ahil Elavazhudhi. The pair also won their semifinal clash against Vinay and A Reniesh 11-5, showing strong teamwork and control throughout the event.
Ruhaan and Ahil took silver, while Vinay and Reniesh settled with bronze.
Suhaan Dominates Men’s Singles
Suhaan Golecha delivered a commanding performance in the Men’s Singles U12 final, defeating his doubles partner Daivik Sriram 11-0. He displayed sharp strokes and a balance of attack and defense to claim the gold medal.

Vishesh Palaniappan Karthik secured the bronze by beating A Ahil Elavazhudhi 11-3. Earlier, Suhaan had defeated Ahil 11-1 in the semifinal, while Daivik edged past Vishesh 11-8.
A Stepping Stone to Nationals
The 7th Tamil Nadu State Championship Pickleball served as a crucial event in the IPA calendar. Wins at this PWR 100 tournament give players valuable experience ahead of the upcoming IPA Nationals scheduled for October and November.
The event also marked another step in pickleball’s growth in southern India, where more young players are taking up the sport and competing at higher levels.
