Pickleball Pro and Challenger League India: Quang Duong from Vietnam became the costliest player at the Global Sports Pickleball Season 2 Pro and Challenger League auction held in Mumbai on Monday. He was bought for ₹27 lakh by the Mumbai Chhatrapati Warriors. Among Indian players, Harsh Mehta drew the highest bid of ₹21 lakh from Chennai Cool Cats.
Big Buys in the Pro League
Quang Duong topped the list, followed by Megan Fudge from the United States, who went to Ahmedabad Olympians for ₹25.50 lakh. Jack Munro from the United States was picked by Jaipur Stallions for ₹25 lakh, Bobbi Oshiro from the United States joined Delhi Snipers for ₹24.50 lakh, and Roos Van Reek from the Netherlands was taken by Hyderabad Vikings for ₹23.50 lakh.
The Pro League also saw strong bids for Indian talent. Harsh Mehta led the list at ₹21 lakh with Chennai Cool Cats, followed by Arjun Singh, who Nashik Ninjas signed for ₹8 lakh, and Aditya Ruhela, who went to Jaipur Stallions for ₹5 lakh.

Rising Indian and Global Talent
The auction highlighted both young and experienced players. Nineteen-year-old Quang Duong represented the new wave of international stars, while seasoned names like 38-year-old Megan Fudge brought valuable experience.
The Challenger League also drew attention with several Indian and global players making their mark. Bids in this league ranged from ₹50,000 to ₹1.5 lakh, but many players sold for much higher due to their popularity and international exposure.
Auction Structure and Spending
Each team had a budget of ₹66 lakh, with ₹55 lakh set aside for the Pro League and ₹11 lakh for the Challenger League. With 10 franchises in play, the total potential spend reached ₹6.6 crore, making it Asia’s biggest pickleball auction so far.
The ten franchises that took part were Ahmedabad Olympians, Bengaluru Blazers, Chennai Cool Cats, Coimbatore Super Smashers, Delhi Snipers, Hyderabad Vikings, Jaipur Stallions, Kolkata Kingz, Mumbai Chhatrapati Warriors, and Nashik Ninjas.
Significance of the Auction
The auction showed how pickleball is becoming a professional sport in India, drawing both global names and Indian players into the spotlight. With record bids and international talent joining hands with local stars, the league has set the stage for Season 2 to be bigger and more competitive.
