Lucknow Open Pickleball 2025: Sana Asthana’s Double Triumph and Farhan Azmi’s Nerve-Stealing Victory Electrify Debut Tournament

Lucknow Open Pickleball 2025: Lucknow hosted its first-ever Indian Pickleball Association (IPA) sanctioned PWR 50 event over the weekend at the Let’s Pickle venue. Farhan Azmi claimed the men’s singles title, Sana Surangana Asthana won both women’s singles and mixed doubles, Anujay Krishna–Tanmay Sharma took men’s open doubles, and Sumit Wadhva–Luv Khattri triumphed in men’s doubles 30+. Winners earned Rs 5,000, runners-up Rs 3,000.

Men’s Open Singles

Farhan Azmi emerged champion in a 16-player field, defeating Tanmay Sharma 13–11 in a tense final on Saturday. Both players showed speed, skill, and resilience, but Farhan’s composure in the final moments secured him the title. Spectators enjoyed a thrilling match that highlighted the growing talent in Uttar Pradesh.

Women’s Open Singles

Sana Surangana Asthana dominated the six-player women’s singles event. She beat Katyayani Mishra 11–2 in the final, showcasing her aggressive play and consistency. Her victory underlined her status as one of India’s most exciting pickleball prospects.

Men’s Singles 30+

In the eight-player 30+ category, Anshul Garg edged past Luv Khattri 11–9 on Saturday. Anshul defeated Abhinav 11–5 in the semifinals, while Luv Khattri overpowered Apeel 11–0 to reach the final. Anshul won Rs 5,000 and Luv Rs 3,000 for their strong performances.

Mixed Doubles

Sana Surangana Asthana paired with Yash Singh to claim the mixed doubles title on Sunday. The pair dominated Anindita Singh and Adheesh Mohan 11–2 in the final. Their teamwork, control at the net, and court awareness made them unbeatable throughout the tournament.

Men’s Open Doubles

Anujay Krishna and Tanmay Sharma lifted the men’s open doubles trophy, defeating Sumit Wadhva and Luv Khattri 11–6 in the final. The 16-pair event saw Anujay and Tanmay display skill and coordination to emerge victorious, taking Rs 5,000. Runners-up Sumit Wadhva and Luv Khattri earned Rs 3,000.

Men’s Doubles 30+

Sumit Wadhva and Luv Khattri bounced back in the 30+ doubles category, edging past Anchal and Anshul Garg 11–9 in a nail-biting final. Their victory showcased resilience and composure under pressure, completing a successful weekend for the duo.

The Lucknow Open energized the city’s pickleball community. Winners in all categories received Rs 5,000, while runners-up took Rs 3,000.
