Mihika Yadav Clinches Chennai Pickleball Crown, Eyes Global Glory in 2025

Mihika Yadav Pickleball Championship Victory: Chennai witnessed a new pickleball triumph as India’s No. 1 women’s singles player, Mihika Yadav, claimed the Women’s Singles title at the Rise Up Championship – Pickleball By The Bay 2025. The IPA-sanctioned PWR 1000 event took place on Sunday. Yadav defeated Snehal Kishor Patil 11-8, 11-4, showcasing strong skill and strategy.

Mihika’s victory marked another milestone in her career and highlighted her continued dominance in Indian pickleball.

A Special Win in Chennai

Chennai holds special memories for Mihika Yadav, who was previously a professional tennis player with major wins in the city. Returning with a pickleball paddle, she described her latest victory as particularly meaningful. “Chennai has always been very special to me. I used to play tennis before, I was a professional tennis player, and I’ve won some big tennis tournaments here. And now to win a pickleball singles event in this city – very, very special,” she said.

Support from Sponsors and Family

Mihika credited her sponsors and loved ones for her success. “It feels absolutely amazing. First of all, I want to thank my sponsor JOOLA for the amazing paddle, apparel, and their continuous faith and support in me. Thank you Hemal sir for all your support throughout,” she told Pickleball Now. She added, “My lucky charms this tournament are definitely my mixed doubles partner Amol Ramchandani – I give him all the credit for today’s win. And my mom is also here, so that makes this victory even more special.”

On-Court Performance

During the final, Mihika Yadav remained focused and executed her plans well. “I think I stayed solid throughout the match. Whatever I had planned, whatever I had prepped for, I managed to execute. And yeah, that’s what helped me win today,” she said.

She defeated Snehal Kishor Patil, who had earlier won the women’s doubles title and reached three finals over the weekend. The seaside facility also impressed Mihika. “It’s a stunning, stunning facility. I wish this was a permanent structure because it’s so pretty, it’s by the beach. Kudos to Rise Up Championship. Thank you for having me. It’s been a fabulous event — I’ve enjoyed every minute on court. And I can’t wait to be back for some more,” she added.

Looking Ahead

The Chennai victory adds to Mihika Yadav’s growing list of achievements. Earlier this year, she played in the inaugural PPA Tour Asia across Malaysia, Hong Kong, and Japan. She also won gold at the Dubai Open and earned bronze at the Monsoon Pickleball Championships.

Mihika is now preparing for more competitions. “I am now looking forward to compete in a few international events — some PPAs, some APPs. And of course we have our state championship selections coming up, and the (IPA) Nationals later in November. Lot of exciting events to look forward to,” she said.
