Currently participating in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, Suryakumar took time out to join his Mumbai teammates at the Pikkle – Pickleball arena in Secunderabad. Teammates Prithvi Shaw, Angrish Raghuvanshi, Surynash Shedge, Hardik Tamore, and Sairaj Patil accompanied him as they explored India’s fastest-growing sport.
Sharing the experience on Instagram, Suryakumar wrote, “The hype is real,” showcasing his excitement about trying pickleball firsthand.

Mumbai’s Campaign in Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy
The Mumbai cricket team, led by Shreyas Iyer, is in Group D alongside Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, and others. With four wins out of five matches so far, the team is well-placed for a strong finish. Suryakumar, who missed the first four games due to personal reasons, has returned to bolster Mumbai’s campaign. The star-studded team also features Ajinkya Rahane and Shivam Dube.

Pickleball continues to gain traction across the country, bolstered by the success of the Pickleball World Rankings (PWR) DUPR India Masters in Delhi earlier this year. The momentum is set to build further with the PWR India League scheduled for January 2025 in Mumbai. The league will kick off a nationwide tour across cities like Ahmedabad, Pune, Bengaluru, and more.

Adding to the excitement, tennis legend Andre Agassi is set to visit Mumbai on December 13 to inaugurate the PWR India Tour and League. The eight-time Grand Slam winner will participate in an exhibition match while the team owners for the league will be revealed.
