Cupid Classic Tournament: The 2025 Viking Pickleball Cupid Classic will take place from February 15 to February 16 at South County Regional Park in Punta Gorda, Florida. This outdoor event will feature various skill divisions and a chance for competitors to earn cash prizes in the Open divisions.
The tournament will include both gender doubles on February 15 and mixed doubles on February 16. Players in skill divisions 3.0, 3.5, 4.0+, and Open will compete in round-robin play followed by single-elimination brackets. Each team is guaranteed at least four games.
Registration Details
Early registration for the Cupid Classic opens on December 17, 2024, at 8:00 EST, and will end on February 2, 2025. The early registration cost is $50 per player.
After February 2, the cost will increase to $75. Registration is available until February 9, 2025, but the late fee applies after February 2.
Prizes and Skills Divisions
Cash prizes are available for Open divisions based on the number of participants. Players can register in age divisions of 19+, 50+, and 65+ or for the Open division. All scores for skill and age divisions will be reported to the dupr/”>dupr/”>DUPR, except for Open/Pro events.
Tournament Format
The Cupid Classic will follow the round-robin format, where teams play against each other in a pool. The top teams will then advance to the single-elimination bracket play.
The tournament will be played outdoors, and the team organizing the event aims to make adjustments if inclement weather affects the schedule.
Important Tournament Rules
USA Pickleball approved paddles are required. Players will need to have their paddles checked at registration. Paddles that are not on the approved list will not be allowed for use in the competition.
Refund Policy
No refunds will be provided for inclement weather, although the format will be adjusted to ensure all events can be completed.
Players withdrawing by February 8 can receive a refund minus the service fee. However, no refunds will be issued after February 8, and the Pickleballbrackets.com service fee of $5 per event is non-refundable.
