Pickleball players in Las Vegas will have a chance to establish their ratings at the UTR Kick-Off Event on March 1 at Southern Highlands Racquets. The event, scheduled from 10 a.m. to noon PST, offers a competitive yet accessible environment for players of all skill levels.
Participants can enter with a partner or be paired up on-site. The entry fee is $10 per person, with an additional $5 charge for those without a power subscription. Designed to provide accurate skill ratings, the event will feature quick burst games, with players guaranteed at least four matches. The more matches played, the more precise the rating.
Format and Match Play
The competition will follow a rally scoring format, with games played to 15 points, win by one. Matchups will be adjusted progressively to ensure balanced competition. The objective is to create competitive pairings throughout the event, enhancing the accuracy of each player’s rating.
Warm-up courts will be available from 9:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. before the official start. The event will also provide a USA Pickleball equivalency rating, allowing players to use their scores for future tournaments and match play pickleball events.
