SDO Premier Series 3: Players from across Texas will gather at Life Time Shenandoah on May 24, 2025, for the SDO Premier Series 3 pickleball tournament. The one-day event promises competitive round-robin matches and cash prizes for top performers. Registration is now open and will close on May 23 at 4:00 PM CST.
Competitive Play and Cash Prizes
The tournament is open to both members and non-members. Life Time members will pay $35 per person, while non-members will pay $50. Team registration costs $70 for members and $100 for non-members. Players must have a valid DUPR account, as all matches will be tracked for rankings.
The round-robin format ensures each team plays several matches. Prizes include $200 for the winning team and Joola equipment for the runner-up. However, at least four teams must enter each division for it to take place.
Event Details and Rules
The tournament will be held at Life Time Shenandoah, located at 9000 Six Pines Drive in Shenandoah, Texas. Parking is free for all attendees.
If an event has four to seven teams, only half the prize money will be awarded. Full prize money requires at least eight teams. Some events may need up to 14 teams to qualify for maximum payouts. If an event doesn’t meet the four-team minimum, it will be canceled, with a 48-hour notice.
Players must link their Pickleball Brackets account with DUPR before the event. Life Time members will be charged through their account, while non-members must pay on-site. If registration is full, players can join the waitlist and will be notified if a spot opens.
Voices from the Community
“We’re excited to host the SDO Premier Series 3,” said the Life Time Shenandoah event coordinator. “This is a great chance for local and visiting athletes to test their skills in a competitive setting with real rewards.”
Organizers urge participants to register early due to limited availability and rising costs. On May 11, the entry fee for non-members increases to $50.
What It Means for the Sport
The SDO Premier Series 3 highlights the growth of pickleball in Texas and offers an opportunity for players to earn rankings and prizes in a single-day format. With strong participation, the event is expected to draw a crowd and promote healthy competition in the region. If successful, more tournaments like this may follow.
