The 2025 Commodore Pickleball Extravaganza will take place on Saturday, June 7, at Papa Joe’s Bayside in Panama City, Florida. Players will compete in a fun and fast-paced scramble round-robin format, all while supporting Gulf Coast State College Athletics.
Held at the waterfront courts of Papa Joe’s, the event will feature food trucks, a full bar, swag bags for participants, and prizes. Registration is open until May 30 and costs $50. Players must register by May 11 to receive a tournament t-shirt. All divisions have limited space, and each player may only enter one.
Tournament Format and Rules
The event will use a scramble-style round robin. Players will be randomly partnered for four games, then seeded by points into a single-elimination playoff bracket. Every participant will play at least five games.
Round robin games will be played to 11 points, win by 2, with a 12-minute time cap. Playoff games follow the same scoring, without a time limit. Medals will be awarded for first, second, and third place in each bracket.
Participants are asked to sign up for the division that best fits their skill level. “Please register for the appropriate skill level (no sandbagging),” organizers advised. The tournament director may combine or adjust brackets based on registration numbers.
More Than Just a Tournament
This one-day event also serves as a fundraiser. According to organizers, “Registration fees are final and non-refundable. Your support is crucial in efforts to support student athletes, and we appreciate your commitment to this cause.”
If weather disrupts play on Saturday, the event will move to Sunday, June 8. Parking is free and available onsite at Papa Joe’s Bayside.
