Event Details
Registration for the Fireball Pickleball Tournament opened on April 12, 2025, and will close on May 4, 2025. The cost of registration is AUD 60 for the first event, and each additional event costs AUD 30. Players can compete in a maximum of two events. All players must sign up at the skill level of the higher-rated partner if entering doubles competitions.
The tournament will feature qualifying games in a round-robin format, followed by semifinals and finals. Matches in round-robin play will be to 11 or 15 points, depending on pool size. The medal matches will be a best-of-three, with games to 11 points, win by two.
Tournament Rules and Equipment
This event follows the current USA Pickleball (USAPA) rules. The tournament will use Franklin X40 pickleballs for outdoor play. Players’ rankings will be determined using the DUPR system.
Players entering age-specific events must meet the age requirements, with one player on a team needing to be within the specified age range. Juniors can participate in the 19+ events with prior approval from the tournament organizers.
Refund Policy
Refunds are available to players who withdraw before registration closes, minus transaction fees. No refunds will be issued after registration closes unless a medical certificate is provided. As the tournament is held outdoors, no refunds will be given if the event is canceled due to weather conditions.

The Fireball series continues across Queensland, with additional stops in Yeppoon (July 21-22, 2025), Bundaberg (August 9-10, 2025), Rockhampton (November 1-2, 2025), and the Beenleigh Christmas Classic (December 6-7, 2025). Players can participate in individual events or the full series, competing for points and series titles.
