DC Fray Pickleball Bridge District Events: Washington, D.C., is adding more ways to play pickleball as DC Fray brings the sport to #Fraylife Rec at Bridge District. Starting this July, players can enjoy drop-in sessions or join a full league on select Sundays at this new outdoor space.
Open Play on Summer Sundays
DC Fray is offering open pickleball sessions known as pickup play. These will take place on Sunday, July 20, July 27, and August 3 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Players don’t need to register in advance. Just show up and start playing with others who are also looking for a fun game. The cost is free for Fraylife members and $10 for non-members.
The sessions are meant to be relaxed and social, perfect for anyone new to pickleball or looking to make friends. As DC Fray describes it: “It’s exactly that! Whether you’re a seasoned pickleballer or just curious about the hype and want to make new friends, we’re hosting open pickleball pickup play.”
Competitive League Starting in August
For players looking for more structure, DC Fray is launching a pickleball league starting Sunday, August 10. League matches will run every Sunday from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Only registered players can take part in the league. DC Fray encourages individuals, small groups, or full teams to sign up and join the action. The games are designed for both social fun and friendly competition, with prizes available for the winning teams.
DC Fray adds, “This is where social meets competition. Join as an individual, a group, or a team, and enjoy a welcoming, active community of fun-seeking adults like you with fun outdoor vibes, post-game hangouts, and prizes for league champions.”
A New Hub for Pickleball in D.C.
The new venue at Bridge District gives players a unique outdoor setting and a chance to connect through the fast-growing sport of pickleball. DC Fray hopes this space becomes a regular stop for local players looking to enjoy weekends with energy and fun.
