Golf and Pickleball NAWIC Tournament: The third annual Golf and Pickleball Tournament took place on Thursday at Pike Lake Golf and Beach Club, bringing together over 60 participants to support the Twin Ports/Iron Range chapter of the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC). The weather cleared just in time for the event, which aimed to celebrate and support women working in the construction industry.
Fun Event Brings the Community Together
The Twin Ports/Iron Range NAWIC chapter has been active since 2021 and continues to grow. The tournament combined friendly games of golf and pickleball with a chance to network and support women in construction.
Morgan Seopa, the chapter president, said,
“We have about 34 powerhouse women continuing to move the industry forward.”
Pickleball Proves a Favorite Again
Held at Pike Lake Golf and Beach Club, the event attracted a crowd of construction professionals and supporters. The games encouraged fun and unity while raising awareness for NAWIC’s mission.
Ashley Nelson, the event coordinator, added,
“It’s great to see construction companies supporting women, and networking. Everyone really seems to come back for the pickleball.”
NAWIC’s Growth Across the Region
The Twin Ports/Iron Range chapter is part of the Midwest region, which is growing steadily. A new chapter is also forming in La Crosse, Wisconsin. These efforts show an increasing commitment to building strong networks for women in the construction industry.
