Lott Park Pickleball Tournament Serves Up Big Wins for Eastern Shore Art Center

Lott Park Pickleball Tournament: A pickleball tournament was held on Saturday, July 26, 2025, at Lott Park in Daphne, Alabama. The event raised funds for the Eastern Shore Art Center in Fairhope. Players competed in a round-robin format, and medals were awarded in men’s, women’s, and mixed doubles.

Supporting Art Through Sports

The tournament was created to benefit the Eastern Shore Art Center, a community space that brings art and creativity to people of all ages. Organizers included FOX10 and Lenise Ligon, who helped make the event a success for both pickleball fans and art lovers.

Thomas Myers, who works with the Eastern Shore Art Center, shared more about the center’s mission.

“It’s a beautiful blend of the museum, a gallery and an art school. All of those components are very important, including outreach into other communities and bringing art to them,”(Thomas Myers).

Local Players Enjoy the Event

Residents from the local area came out to enjoy the games and the fun activities at the park. One of them was Daphne Cook, who lives in Daphne. She said,

“I love coming to the local tournaments because we get to see so many great people. I knew with FOX10 and Lenise organizing it, it would be a good event, but it was awesome.”

Besides pickleball, the event also featured CPR demonstrations and hands-on art projects, allowing families and visitors of all ages to take part in the fun.

A Community Win

The Eastern Shore Art Center is known for its classes, exhibits, and outreach work.

“We teach classes at the Eastern Shore. They are almost always full. We always have at least three galleries with good art local art regional art and on occasion national art,”(Thomas Myers).

With the help of the pickleball tournament, the center can continue its programs and expand its reach to more people in the community.
