The Picklr Australia Club Expansion: The Picklr is expanding into Australia and New Zealand, with plans to open 50 new indoor pickleball clubs in the coming years. First Club to Launch in Sydney

The first club in the region will open in Sydney, Australia. In total, 44 clubs are planned for Australia and 6 for New Zealand. All will follow The Picklr’s U.S. model, which includes modern indoor courts, high-end amenities, and a strong focus on community events and programs.

Facilities will be built in retail or warehouse-style spaces ranging from 1,500 to 3,000 square meters. Each location will be placed near busy residential neighborhoods for easy access.

Local Partnerships and Global Style

While the design and core offerings will reflect the original Picklr locations in North America, the new clubs will also include local providers alongside U.S. partners. This mix aims to create a more personalized experience for players in both Australia and New Zealand.

“Australia and New Zealand have been on our radar since we began thinking about international expansion. Pickleball is no longer just a trend – it’s a global movement redefining how people connect through sport,”

said Jorge Barragan, Chief Executive Officer of The Picklr.

“Both Australia and New Zealand are rapidly growing their pickleball communities, with new clubs, courts, and players joining the game every day. These are markets that understand the power of sport to build connection and community. With TPM Partners leading the charge locally, we’re confident we can deliver the same premium Picklr experience that’s been fueling our momentum across North America,”(Jorge Barragan added).

A Worldwide Growth Plan

The Picklr already operates clubs in Canada and Japan, with more than 500 locations planned globally in the next few years. The company’s rapid expansion reflects the growing global popularity of pickleball.

With its newest step into the Oceania region, The Picklr aims to bring people together through fun, fitness, and friendly competition.
