New Jersey Paddle Battle Heats Up Monroe: Cash Prizes, Perks, and Fierce Competition Await

New Jersey Paddle Battle Tournament: The New Jersey Paddle Battle will take place from August 16 to August 17, 2025, at The Club at Monroe in Monroe, New Jersey. This event, hosted by the Amateur Pickleball Association (APA), welcomes players with skill levels from 2.5 to 5.0. Registration closes on August 13, with an entry fee of $75 for the first event.

About the Tournament

The Amateur Pickleball Association organizes the New Jersey Paddle Battle as part of its national tour, which includes nearly 150 tournaments in 2025. Players benefit from the APA’s PicklePerks program, which rewards every participant with cash credits for event entries and victories. These credits can be used for future tournaments or apparel. Events are sorted first by skill level and then by age group, depending on the number of participants.

Event Format and Schedule

Matches begin with doubles at 8 a.m. on Saturday, followed by mixed doubles starting at 8 a.m. on Sunday. Singles matches are scheduled for the afternoons of either day. The format guarantees each player at least six games. Doubles matches use single-game round robins played to 11 points, with players needing to win by two points. Medal matches are best two out of three sets. Singles use rally scoring to 21 points, also with a two-point win margin.

Registration and Rules

Early registration fees are $70 for the first event, $50 for the second, and $35 for the third. Players registering without a partner will receive a credit toward a future event if a partner cannot be found. All payments are final, but credits may be issued for withdrawals made two or more weeks before the event. The APA places players in divisions based on their official DUPR ratings to ensure fair competition.

Prize Money

The tournament features open doubles divisions with cash prizes for all players regardless of skill or age. The prize amounts are $1,000 for gold, $600 for silver, and $400 for bronze. These payouts are distributed as 50% for gold, 30% for silver, and 20% for bronze, provided the division is fully registered.
