Covered Bridge Park Pickleball Courts: Ada Township has started work on an $8.5 million project that will replace Leonard Park with a larger space called Covered Bridge Park. Among its many new features, the project will include two pickleball courts, giving residents more recreational options.
A Key Part of the New Park
Covered Bridge Park will stretch across 15 acres beside Ada’s historic covered bridge and the Thornapple River. Township leaders believe the new space will create more ways for people to stay active.
Ada Township Supervisor Tom Korth said,
“Covered Bridge Park will be a great place for the public to gather, be active and enjoy everything that Ada has to offer. It’s a key piece of our trail network and a major step toward realizing our community’s vision of accessible outdoors spaces that connect the village.”
Project Timeline and Additions
The development is divided into two phases. The first phase, set to finish in December 2025, will include green space and riverfront seating. The second phase, expected to end in June 2026, will add the pickleball courts, playground, splash pad, dog park, and more open recreation areas.

During the groundbreaking ceremony on September 3, Baton Collective CEO Loren Crandell praised the fundraising campaign that supported the project.
