Dink Minor League Pickleball Texas: The Dink Minor League Pickleball tournament will be held at Pickler Universe in Carrollton, Texas, on August 9 and 10, 2025. A New Style of Pickleball Play
This Minor League Pickleball event features a format that mixes men’s, women’s, and mixed doubles. Each team has four players—two men and two women. They play four 21-point games: one women’s doubles, one men’s doubles, and two mixed doubles. If teams are tied 2–2, a singles game called the Dreambreaker™ decides the winner.
In the Dreambreaker™, one player from each team plays singles, switching every four points until a team wins by reaching 21 with a two-point lead.
Schedule and Registration Details
The schedule is as follows:
- DUPR 14 and 18 divisions: Saturday at 8:00 a.m.
- DUPR 16 division: Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
- DUPR 12 and 20 divisions: Sunday at 8:00 a.m.
The cost is $80.00 per player. All teams must register and pay together. Players must have a Dynamic Universal Pickleball Rating (DUPR) to sign up. If a player does not have a rating, the tournament director will confirm an estimated one.
Understanding the DUPR Format
Teams are placed into divisions based on their combined DUPR rating:
- DUPR 20: Team total must be 20.99 or less
- DUPR 18: Max 18.30, no player over 5.10
- DUPR 16: Max 16.30, no player over 4.60
- DUPR 14: Max 14.30, no player over 4.10
- DUPR 12: Max 12.30, no player over 3.60
Once teams register, their ratings are locked. Changes in DUPR after registration won’t affect team placement.
Options for Individual Players
Single players can still join. If they are already part of a team, they must list the team name and DUPR level when registering. Players without a team may be matched by the organizer. If they are not placed, their fee will be refunded (minus a $5 tech fee and 3% processing fee).
Team Changes and Substitutions
Teams that need to change players can update their roster through Swish or contact the tournament director. The replacement player must not raise the team’s total rating above the division limit.
Refund and Cancellation Policy
Players must cancel at least 15 days before the tournament for a refund, minus small fees. After that, no refunds are offered. Single players not placed on a team will receive a refund within 3–5 business days after the event ends.
