Team Rivalries and Fast-Paced Action: Dink Minor League Pickleball Brings Excitement to Adelaide

Dink Minor League Pickleball Adelaide: The Dink Minor League Pickleball will take place on August 10, 2025, at Seaford Recreation Centre, located at 620 Grand Boulevard, Seaford Rise, South Australia. The event features a unique team-based format called MLPlay™, allowing amateur players to compete in fun, fast-paced matches.

A New Style of Pickleball

The Dink Minor League Pickleball uses a new team format where each team has four players—two women and two men. These teams will play four games per match: women’s doubles, men’s doubles, and two mixed doubles games.

If teams are tied 2-2 after four games, the match goes into a tiebreaker called a Dreambreaker™. During a Dreambreaker™, each team selects one player to start singles, and players rotate every four rallies until one team reaches 21 points and wins by two.

Event organizers stated:

“The future of pickleball is NOW: The Dink Minor League Pickleball is sweeping the nation with its innovative, fun and social amateur MLPlay™ Team Event.”

Rules and Ratings

To join, players must have a Dynamic Universal Pickleball Rating (DUPR). Team divisions are based on combined DUPR scores:

  • DUPR 18: Team total must be 18.30 or less

  • DUPR 16: Team total must be 16.30 or less

  • DUPR 14: Team total must be 14.30 or less

  • DUPR 12: Team total must be 12.30 or less

Each player must also fall under a specific individual DUPR limit. Once a team is registered, ratings are locked and won’t change, even if player ratings update later.

Registration Details

All players must have a DUPR account to register. Those without official ratings can still play, but their skill level will be confirmed by the tournament director.

Single players may still register. If they already belong to a team, they must list their team name and DUPR division (example: “Mad Drops – 18”). If a single player has no team, the tournament director will try to place them on one. If no spot is available, that player will get a full refund, minus a $5 technology fee and 3% processing fee.

Refund Policy

Cancellations must be made 15 days before the event. Refunds after that date will not be issued. Individual players not placed on teams will receive a refund 3–5 business days after the event, minus the small service fees.

The event will be held at the Seaford Recreation Centre. No parking fees will be charged.
