Tournament Details and Schedule
The event will be held at the Craneway Pavilion, located at 1414 Harbour Way S, Suite 4000, Richmond, California, 94804. A total of 12 indoor pickleball courts will be set up for the competition, using Franklin X-40 balls and portable crank nets.
The tournament will begin on Saturday, January 18, with the Women’s and Men’s 4.0-4.5 brackets in the morning, followed by the Mixed 3.0-3.5 and Mixed 3.5-4.0 divisions around 1 p.m. The day will end with the Women’s and Men’s 4.5+ divisions.
On Sunday, January 19, the Women’s and Men’s 3.0-3.5 divisions will play in the morning, with the Women’s and Men’s 3.5-4.0 divisions in the early afternoon. The Mixed 4.0-4.5 and Mixed 4.5+ brackets will conclude the tournament in the afternoon.
Registration and Fees
Registration for the tournament is priced at $70, with an additional $25 fee per event. Craneway members enjoy a discounted registration rate of $55, but they will need to use a special discount code. Note that there is an additional non-refundable service fee of $5 per event, capped at $10, applied by PickleballBrackets.com.
All participants must ensure they are fully registered before the event by confirming their partner status and payment. The “Find a Partner” feature is available for those who do not have a teammate. However, teams that remain incomplete by the January 11 deadline will be withdrawn.
Prize Money and Awards
Cash prizes will be awarded to the top finishers in each skill bracket. The first-place prizes are as follows: $200 for 3.0-3.5, $400 for 3.5-4.0, $600 for 4.0-4.5, and $1,000 for 4.5+. Second and third-place finishers will receive prizes, which will be announced closer to the event date.
Tournament Format
The tournament will follow a round-robin format with games played to 11, win by 2, and players will switch sides at 6 points. In case of a tie in the round-robin play, head-to-head matchups and points won will determine the final rankings.
After pool play, the top four teams in each bracket will advance to the playoffs, with the first round played to 15, win by 2. The medal matches will be best 2 out of 3, games to 11, win by 2. Each team is allowed one timeout per game to 11 and two timeouts per game to 15.
Additional Information
Participants are reminded that Craneway Pavilion enforces a policy of no outside food or drink, although personal water bottles are permitted. The venue also features a full-service restaurant and bar.
For those interested in attending, parking is available near the guard gate on Harbour Way S or at the public ferry parking in front of the facility. There is no parking fee.
