The tournament is open to players of all ages and skill levels, featuring three age groups: Under 49, 49 to 65, and Over 65. Participants can compete in skill levels of 3.0 and under, 3.5, and 4.0+. The event includes Men’s Doubles, Women’s Doubles, and Mixed Doubles, ensuring that everyone has a spot in the 27 amateur events.
Pickleball Tournament Format
The matches will be played in a Round Robin format within age and skill brackets. Here’s how the match formats are organized:
- Round Robin Matches: 1 game to 11, win by 2.
- Elimination Rounds: 1 game to 15, win by 2.

- Gold Medal Match: Best 2 out of 3 to 11, win by 2.

Registration Information
To register for the tournament, players must pay a fee of $50 for their first event, with an additional $25 for each subsequent event. Registration opens on December 9, 2024, at 7 PM (CST) and closes on December 25, 2024, at 4 PM (CST).
Payment will be made through a Costa Rican payment gateway after registration. Registration is not confirmed until both partners have registered and paid, so prompt action is essential.
Nosara Pickleball reserves the right to combine brackets, alter match formats, or adjust teams based on registrations.
Additional Details and Regulations
The tournament will be played outdoors, rain or shine, so players should be prepared for possible weather-related delays. The venue features four outdoor hardcourt pickleball courts with free parking available.
Players must use USAPA-approved paddles and the Franklin X-40 ball. Spectators are welcome but should bring their own seating due to limited availability. Pets are not allowed, except for service animals.
Prize Money and Recognition
All amateur events with more than ten participating teams will offer prize credits to Nosara Pickleball:
- 1st Place: $300 credit for the team.
- 2nd Place: $200 credit for the team.
