Edison Township Adds New Pickleball Courts and Invests 1 Million Dollars in Park Upgrades

Edison Township Adds New Pickleball Courts: The Edison Township Council recently approved a $1 million contract for phase three of several park repairs and construction projects. The council’s decision was made at their meeting on Monday.

Phase Three of Park Improvements

The contract, valued at $1,083,471, was awarded to Halceon, Inc., a Bridgewater-based company. Halceon, Inc. was the lowest bidder for the project, which is part of a broader effort to improve local parks.

Mayor Sam Joshi expressed his satisfaction with the approval, stating,

“With this approval, we will have significantly improved all of our 32 municipal parks in Edison to benefit our families.”(Mayor Sam Joshi)

Planned Park Upgrades

The phase three plan includes several key projects aimed at enhancing park facilities. Among the upgrades are the addition of two new fenced-in pickleball courts at Hale Park. The basketball and tennis courts at Lindquist Park will be refurbished, with new fencing and an ADA-compliant walkway.

Edison Woods will receive a new tennis, basketball, and pickleball court, while Oakcrest Swim Club will see the refurbishment of the basketball court and the conversion of the tennis court into a pickleball court.

Additionally, Dudash Park’s basketball court will undergo crack repairs, an overlay, and a new color coat, and Capestro Park will receive new backboards and color coating for its two basketball courts.

These improvements are expected to greatly benefit the community. Mayor Joshi emphasized the importance of these upgrades in making local parks more accessible and enjoyable for residents.
