Organized through Cheltenham Township’s Parks and Recreation Department, this initiative aims to introduce the sport to new players in the community.
Program Schedule and Structure
The beginner pickleball sessions will be held every Friday from January 10 until March 14, with two-time slots available: 10:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. Participants will receive instruction on the fundamentals of pickleball, including basic rules, techniques, and strategies to enjoy the game. Howard Silver, a co-leader of the program, emphasized the importance of making the sport accessible to all.
Experienced Instruction and Support
The program will feature Ed Wermuth as the lead instructor. With experience in teaching pickleball, Wermuth is well-equipped to guide beginners through their initial learning experiences. Silver stated,
