On December 23, the council approved a bid of $1,083,471 by Halecon Inc. of Bridgewater for Phase III of the improvement plan. This project will enhance the facilities at the township’s 32 municipal parks.

Improvements Across Key Parks

  • Capestro Park: Two basketball courts will be overlaid, color-coated, and provided with new backboards.
  • Hale Park: This park will see the installation of two new fenced pickleball courts, catering to the growing interest in this popular sport.
  • Lindquist Park: The two basketball courts and tennis courts will be refurbished, fencing will be replaced, and an ADA walkway will be installed to improve accessibility.
  • Edison Woods: This park will feature a new tennis court, a new basketball court, and a new pickleball court, expanding options for local sports enthusiasts.
  • Oakcrest Swim Club: The basketball court will be refurbished, and the existing tennis court will be converted into four pickleball courts.
  • May Street Park: One basketball court will undergo crack repairs, an overlay, and color coating to enhance playability.
