Indoor Pickleball and Soccer Programs: Those looking to stay active this winter can participate in various indoor soccer and pickleball programs offered by BV Rec. These programs provide an excellent opportunity to learn a new sport, improve skills, and make new friends.
Indoor Pickleball Sessions
Pickleball enthusiasts can join indoor sessions at Darren Patterson Christian Academy, located at 518 S San Juan Ave. Experienced players can attend arranged play days every Wednesday at 5:15 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Groups can reserve one court for their session in the DPCA Gym, which has three available courts. The cost is $20 per group, with a maximum of three groups per session.
Although the reservation times have changed from last year, the process remains the same. Groups of any size can reserve a court, but they will only have access to one court for their session.
Open Gym Opportunities
Open Gym sessions are available for players ages 10 and up on Sundays from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Fridays from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. These sessions cost $5 per visit and welcome players of all skill levels. To learn more and to sign the required waiver.
Learn to Play Days
Participants can also take part in “Learn to Play” days, led by certified Pickleball Coach Cami Jamerson. These sessions occur on the third Saturday of each month. The next sessions will take place on January 18, February 15, and March 8, 2025, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Participants must register by the Wednesday before each class.
Open to anyone aged 16 and older, each session costs $10. A minimum of six participants is needed to hold the session, and equipment will be provided. Participants are encouraged to register for only one session, as each clinic covers the same material.
These programs not only promote physical activity but also foster a sense of community among players of all ages and skill levels.
