Bounce Pickleball Transforms Pikesville Complex into Premier Pickleball Destination

Bounce Pickleball Transforms Pikesville Complex: Bounce Pickleball has purchased the 55,400-square-foot Pikesville Racquet and Fitness complex in Maryland. The sale, finalized on December 23, will allow the company to build 18 to 22 pickleball courts, reflecting the sport’s rapid rise in popularity across the United States. Renovations are expected to begin immediately, with Bounce Pickleball moving in on January 1, 2025.

The complex houses six indoor tennis courts, a fitness center, and studios. Its transformation into a major pickleball hub highlights the growing demand for pickleball facilities in the mid-Atlantic region.

A Reflection of Pickleball’s Popularity

Pickleball is the fastest-growing sport in the US and has gained global recognition. Bounce Pickleball’s decision to invest heavily in this facility underscores the sport’s increasing appeal. Principal Gil Neuman of Neuman Commercial explained the decision.

“The majority of interest was almost entirely for pickleball. It definitely reflects the new interest surge in the country, and ownership was aware of that. We not only heard from people that we didn’t expect to, but we specifically listed and contacted a whole variety of tennis and pickleball facilities throughout the mid-Atlantic,” (Principal Gil Neuman).

Bounce Pickleball aims to complete renovations of the tennis courts by February, enabling the region to embrace the game further.

Australian Open to Host Pickleball Slam

Fans of the sport are also looking forward to the Australian Open 2025, which will feature the AO Pickleball Slam. Scheduled to take place at Melbourne Park’s Court 3 from January 24 to 26, the event will introduce pickleball to a global audience. Some of the world’s top tennis players are expected to try their hand at the game during the event.

Impact on the Community and Beyond

The addition of 18 to 22 pickleball courts at the Pikesville complex will boost the sport’s accessibility and growth in the mid-Atlantic. As pickleball continues to thrive, investments like this reflect its potential to transform local communities and attract new players.

Globally, events such as the AO Pickleball Slam will help further establish pickleball as a sport that bridges generations and skill levels. With Bounce Pickleball’s efforts and major international showcases, the future of pickleball looks promising.
