Pickleball Facility in Fort Collins: Fort Collins is planning to turn a former call center into a top-notch pickleball facility. The venue, located at 4401 Innovation Drive, will include indoor and outdoor courts, food and beverage amenities, and a membership-based model to meet growing demand for the sport.
Repurposing a Historic Space
The building, originally constructed in 1978 and renovated in 1997, spans 65,000 square feet. Developers will transform 36,000 square feet of the space into the pickleball facility. Its location near the Power Trail, Golden Meadows Pond, and nearby schools offers convenient access for players of all ages.
Plans for Players and Community
The facility will operate on a membership model with capped numbers to ensure court availability. It will also offer private lessons, classes for skill development, drill sessions, and the ability to host tournaments. Amenities will include a coffee bar, grab-and-go food options, and a sober bar to create a welcoming environment.
Local Expertise Leads Development
Neil Bellefeuille, a Fort Collins resident and sustainability expert, is one of the project’s developers. As a partner in Pickleball Ventures LLC, Bellefeuille has a background in brand strategy and is listed on city documents related to the project.
Community Feedback and Timeline
Residents had the opportunity to learn about the plans and share feedback at a neighborhood meeting on July 31. Developers aim to complete the facility and open it to members by summer, adding an exciting recreational option for the Fort Collins area.
A Boost for Local Recreation
The project is expected to promote physical activity and community engagement while tapping into the rising popularity of pickleball. With its unique features and thoughtful design, the facility may set a new standard for recreational spaces in Fort Collins.
