Pickleball Courts Proposed in Park City: Park City’s recreation department has proposed setting up six pickleball courts inside a 15,000-square-foot bay at the Utah Film Studio on State Route 248. If approved, the courts will operate during winter months from November 1 to April 30, starting this season.
The city aims to address the high demand for pickleball while alleviating space conflicts with tennis players at the PC MARC. Recreation Director Ken Fisher said this temporary setup could meet short-term needs as officials explore options for a permanent pickleball center.

A Temporary Solution for Growing Demand
Leasing the film studio bay would cost $20,000 per month, pending the finalization of the contract. The proposal allows for pickleball play at the studio for three winters. Fisher expressed optimism about the facility’s readiness:
“Pickleball players can expect the courts to be ready for play by February if all goes as planned,” (Recreation Director Ken Fisher ).
This plan would shift all pickleball operations from the PC MARC to the Utah Film Studio, freeing up existing courts for tennis players. Balancing space for both sports has been an ongoing challenge for the recreation department.
Opportunity for Public Feedback
Park City residents can share their opinions at the Planning Commission meeting on Wednesday before the final vote. A virtual attendance link and agenda are available on the city’s website.
