A Hub for Pickleball Enthusiasts
The Robbinsville Pickle House features a kitchen and tap on-site, creating a vibrant social atmosphere. The venue has already begun hosting tournaments and league play. Each court is climate-controlled, complete with radiant heating, ensuring comfortable playing conditions throughout the winter.
Pickleball’s Rapid Growth
According to a Sports and Fitness Industry Association report from November, pickleball has been the fastest-growing sport in America for three consecutive years. Participation in the sport surged by 223.5% in that time, with every age group seeing increases.
Despite its growth nationwide, New Jersey’s pickleball participation has been slower. As of last year, there were approximately 675,000 known players in the Mid-Atlantic region, which includes New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia. The limited number of available indoor spots may be a factor in this slower growth.
Future Developments
In addition to Robbinsville, another large indoor pickleball facility is set to open soon in North Jersey. The Sportime at Willowbrook Plaza in Wayne will span 50,000 square feet and include 20 indoor courts, according to its developers.
