PickleRage Opens First Maryland Facility in Glen Burnie: A New Era for Local Pickleball

PickleRage Opens First Maryland Facility: The sport of pickleball is expanding rapidly in Anne Arundel County with the opening of PickleRage’s first Maryland facility. The new center features 10 indoor courts and is located in Glen Burnie at 851 Cromwell Park Drive.

A Growing Presence

This facility is PickleRage’s fourth location, joining existing courts in Alabama, Florida, and Michigan. Plans are in place for two additional sites in Michigan and one in North Carolina, which will bring the total to seven nationwide.

The Glen Burnie Center officially opened its doors on Friday, showcasing a spacious 26,550-square-foot area in the Cromwell Business Park, conveniently located between Interstate 97 and Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport.

State-of-the-Art Facilities

This pickleball facility boasts a premium CushionX playing surface, designed to be joint-friendly. Courts are equipped with advanced video recording and live streaming capabilities. The Save My Play recording feature uses an Artificial Intelligence-powered sports camera system that allows players to capture and review their gameplay effortlessly.

Playing indoors ensures optimal sightlines and year-round, temperature-controlled matches. The facility also includes modern lounges for socializing and a fully stocked pro shop featuring the latest pickleball gear and accessories.

Reservations and walk-in options are available for both members and non-members.

Events and Competitions

PickleRage plans to host a variety of events for players of all ages and skill levels. These include six–, eight–, and 10-week leagues, with social leagues for a more relaxed competitive experience.

Clinics will cater to junior, beginner, intermediate, and advanced players, while private lessons will also be available. Planned tournaments include Cupid’s Cup 2025, a Valentine ’s-themed event scheduled for February 14 to 16, which will feature singles, doubles, and mixed doubles events.

Additionally, the PickleRage Invitational is set for May 17 and 18, gathering top talent for competitive play.

Monthly competitive matches will contribute to players’ Dynamic Universal Pickleball Rating (DUPR), aiding in skill assessment and development.
