The 2025 Alabama Open Pickleball Tournament will take place from March 27 to March 30, 2025, at the Clay Pickleball Complex in Clay, Alabama. Registration opens on January 8, 2025, and ends on March 13, 2025, with an early-bird fee of $60. After February 27, 2025, the fee will increase to $80.
Tournament Format
This year marks the 5th Alabama Open, offering exciting competition for players of all skill levels. The tournament will feature a variety of events, with players registering by their skill levels (3.0, 3.5, 4.0, 4.5+). Team skill levels will be determined by the highest-rated player on the team. The tournament will be divided by age groups, with each bracket consisting of 4-6 teams.
Each bracket will play a round-robin format, followed by playoffs. Teams will compete for medals, with the top four teams advancing to semifinals. The winners of the semifinals will face off for gold and silver, while the losers will play for the bronze.
Special Events and Divisions
The tournament will feature several events over the weekend:
- Thursday (March 27) will showcase Skinny Singles.
- Friday (March 28) will host Women’s Doubles and Men’s Singles.
- Saturday (March 29) will feature Mixed Doubles.
- Sunday (March 30) will conclude with Men’s Doubles and Women’s Singles.
For doubles events, both players must register and pay in full to participate.
Prize Money and Open Divisions
The 2025 Alabama Open will offer prize money for senior (50+) and regular (<50) open brackets in doubles events. The payouts will depend on the number of teams in the bracket. For example, a 12-team bracket will offer payouts of $500 for 1st place, $350 for 2nd place, and $200 for 3rd place.

Refund and Weather Policies
Players who withdraw by March 6, 2025, will receive a full refund minus processing fees. After this date, refund requests will be evaluated by the tournament director. The tournament is outdoor-only, with no indoor backup available. If weather impacts the event, there will be no makeup days or refunds.
