San Antonio’s Pickleball Scene: San Antonio will soon join the pickleball craze with the arrival of Dill Dinkers, a Maryland-based franchise. The company plans to open its first San Antonio location in March 2025, bringing indoor pickleball facilities to the city. Dill Dinkers aims to open up to 20 locations in Texas.

First Location Details

The first Dill Dinkers facility will open at 18450 Blanco Rd., Ste. 101. The 15,500-square-foot facility will offer individually-fenced courts, ProCushion court surfaces, and smart court technology. The climate-controlled, indoor facility is designed with a focus on pickleball, providing an athletic atmosphere that sets it apart from upscale sports clubs.

Membership and Pricing Options

Dill Dinkers does not require membership to reserve a court, though members will enjoy discounted rates. Players can also sign up for regular clinics and lessons, available for individuals, doubles, couples, groups, and kids. The facility will offer a “Play With a Pro” program, where players can team up with a professional for feedback during a fun game. Members can also rent or borrow ball machines, enhancing the practice experience.

San Antonio’s Growing Interest in Pickleball

The Dill Dinkers franchise is being introduced to San Antonio by two U.S. Air Force veterans, Brian and Karen Birdy. Brian Birdy, CEO of PMI Birdy Properties, emphasized the importance of creating community spaces with Dill Dinkers. He stated, “Pickleball is more than just a sport — it’s a way to bring people together and build community.” He also noted that San Antonio is ready for more dedicated indoor facilities, making Dill Dinkers’ arrival timely.
