South Georgia Smash Tournament: The South Georgia Smash pickleball tournament is set for May 3-4, 2025, at McKey Park in Valdosta, Georgia. This event will feature men’s, women’s, and mixed doubles competitions and is open to all skill levels.
Tournament Details
The tournament will take place on 12 newly dedicated pickleball courts at McKey Park. The registration fee is $55 for one event, with an additional $15 for extra events. Registration opens on January 17 and closes on April 27. Players who register by April 20 will receive a free tournament shirt.
Event Schedule
- May 3: Men’s and Women’s Doubles
- May 4: Mixed Doubles
Competition will begin as early as 8:00 AM. Players will receive specific start times via email one week before the event.
Format and Rules
The tournament will follow a round-robin format, with medal matches for brackets of more than four teams. If needed, brackets may be combined to ensure fair competition. Tournament management may also switch brackets to a double elimination format if necessary.
Player Registration and Requirements
Players can register individually or identify a partner. If a partner has not been identified within five days of registration, the team will be moved to the waitlist. The registration is not guaranteed until both players register and complete payment. Players will be grouped according to their DUPR rating.
Refund Policy
Withdrawals are allowed until April 13, with a $20 administrative fee. After this date, no refunds will be issued unless the player has purchased tournament insurance. This insurance covers weather cancellations, injuries, or family emergencies.
Venue and Parking
The tournament will take place at McKey Park, located at 812 Burton St in Valdosta, Georgia. Parking is free for all participants.
