Mentees and Mentors Bond Over Pickleball: OHuddle kicked off 2024 with its first field trip, bringing students and mentors to The College of Wooster for a day filled with sports, faith, and mentorship. The event, sponsored by Oak Chapel Methodist Church, aimed to provide a unique and enriching experience for participants.
A Memorable Start to the Day
The day began at the Lowry Student Center dining hall, where attendees enjoyed a variety of cuisines and socialized. Following the meal, J.J. Cline, a member of The College of Wooster men’s basketball team, shared his faith testimony.
Pastor John Finn from Oak Chapel Methodist Church joined him, offering an optional faith-based lesson for participants.
Exploring Sports Through Clinics
After the discussion, participants moved to the sports clinic portion of the event. Mentees and mentors had the opportunity to try pickleball, volleyball, and basketball.
Each activity was led by experienced coaches and athletes, including members of the College of Wooster basketball team and former head coach Steve Moore. The hands-on sessions allowed participants to learn new skills and connect with mentors in an engaging setting.

The field trip emphasized physical activity and personal growth. It provided a platform for students to interact with college athletes and coaches while fostering community connections.
