Charlottesville Cup Brings Pickleball Stars Together for Charity in 2025

Charlottesville Cup Brings Pickleball Stars: The Charlottesville Cup, a regional pickleball tournament, will take place from April 25 to April 27, 2025, at the Snyder Tennis Center in Charlottesville, Virginia. The event aims to support Foothills Child Advocacy Center and the UVA Pickleball Club.

A Weekend of Competition

The tournament will feature a round-robin format with matches starting Friday and running through Sunday. Open Division Gender and Mixed Doubles will kick off on Friday, followed by Gender Doubles on Saturday, and Mixed Doubles on Sunday. Start times will be announced closer to the event.

Snyder Tennis Center boasts 14 lighted, multi-use courts, ensuring ample space for competitors. Tournament balls will be Vulcan VPRO Flight, and participants can enjoy raffle prizes and boxed lunches from Firehouse Subs for $11.

Supporting a Cause

This is the second annual tournament organized by Foothills CAC and the UVA Pickleball Club. Proceeds will help provide mental health services for maltreated children and support the UVA Pickleball Club, which has achieved national recognition, including winning the 2023 Collegiate DUPR Championships.

Registration Details

Registration opens on January 17, 2025, with a $50 fee. College students are eligible for a discount, which can be applied after contacting the tournament director. Partners must register within three days to avoid being waitlisted. Refunds are available until April 11, 2025, excluding a $5 Pickleball Bracket fee.

The tournament will award prize money to gold and silver finalists in open divisions, with $500 planned for gold medal teams. The final amounts depend on registration numbers.

Parking and Weather Plans

Participants can park at nearby garages for hourly rates, with directions provided online. While there is no rain date, the tournament will utilize lights to accommodate delays caused by adverse weather.

The Charlottesville Cup promises an exciting weekend of pickleball for players and spectators, while raising funds for meaningful causes.
