The 3rd Annual Kiln Creek Pickleball Open will take place from May 30 to June 1, 2025, at the Kiln Creek Golf Club and Resort in Newport News, Virginia. The event serves as a fundraiser for the Kiwanis Club of Kiln Creek, with all proceeds supporting their mission to improve the lives of children and communities.
Event Details
The tournament will feature various events, with Men’s and Women’s Doubles scheduled for Friday, May 30th. Age groups for this event will include 60+, 65+, and 70+, with skill levels from 2.5 to 4.0+.
On Saturday, May 31st, Men’s and Women’s Doubles will cover age groups from 12+ to 50+, while the Mixed Doubles event will take place on Sunday, June 1st. Age groups for Mixed Doubles will range from 12+ to 75+.
Medals will be awarded for gold, silver, and bronze in each event. Players will compete on a round-robin format, followed by medal matches. A minimum of four matches will be played per event.
Registration and Fees
Registration opens on January 18, 2025, with an early registration fee of $25. Fees will increase to $35 starting February 18, 2025. Participants can register online, with the cost being a charitable donation to the Kiwanis Club.
The event will feature 12 courts, including six outdoor dedicated pickleball courts and six additional temporary courts. Snacks and water will be available to players throughout the day. All matches will be self-monitored.
Vendors and Food
A food vendor will be on-site, and Elevate Pickleball, a pickleball product vendor, will offer gear and equipment for participants and spectators.
Refund Policy
The event has a no-refund policy, as the entry fee is a charitable donation to the Kiwanis Club of Kiln Creek.
Weather Contingency
In case of adverse weather, the pickleball event organizers will try to reschedule matches or offer a make-up day, though no indoor backup plans are in place for the tournament.
