Pickleball Competition Set for 50+ Athletes: Pickleball enthusiasts aged 50 and older can now register for the 16th Annual Capital City Senior Games, taking place from Feb. 26 to March 18 in Tallahassee. This year’s event will feature pickleball competitions alongside other sports, offering opportunities for players of all skill levels.

Event Details

The Capital City Senior Games will offer singles, doubles, and mixed doubles pickleball events, catering to all experience levels.

Whether an advanced player or a beginner, there’s a category for you. The games provide an exciting opportunity for locals to enjoy the sport in a fun, competitive setting.

Registration Information

To participate in the pickleball event, the first registration fee is $15, which includes a T-shirt and two tickets to the closing dinner.

Additional pickleball events can be entered for $3 each. The games will feature competitions at various venues, including parks and community centers in Tallahassee.

Torch Run and Celebration of Athletes

Pickleball will kick off the games alongside other events, beginning with the Torch Run Opening Ceremony and a Fun Walk on Feb. 26 at Cascades Park.

The pickleball matches will take place at various times throughout the event, with the grand finale, the Celebration of Athletes, scheduled for March 18 at the Tallahassee Senior Center.

A Growing Tradition

Last year, pickleball was one of the most popular sports at the Senior Games, with many local athletes participating in the competition. This year, the event continues to grow, and participants from ages 50 to 90+ will have the chance to compete, improve their skills, and enjoy the sport in a friendly atmosphere.

The Capital City Senior Games are presented by the City of Tallahassee and organized by the Parks, Recreation, and Neighborhood Affairs Department, in partnership with local organizations. The event is sanctioned by the Florida Sports Foundation, offering athletes the chance to qualify for the Florida Senior Games State Championships and the National Senior Games.
