Pickleball Courts Coming to Harmony Park: The Trophy Club Town Council has approved a contract to build six pickleball courts at Harmony Park, located at 699 Indian Creek Drive. The $1.12 million project was awarded to Home Run Construction, a Midlothian-based company, which offered the lowest bid at $971,406.70. City officials allocated an additional $150,000 for contingency costs.
Community Input and Decision Process
The plan to add pickleball courts came after two public engagement events held in June 2024, where 60 residents participated. According to Director of Parks & Recreation, Chase Ellis, the growing demand for pickleball facilities in Trophy Club became clear.
The Parks & Recreation Board initially voted on July 29 to construct four pickleball courts at Harmony Park and Independence Park, but the Town Council ultimately approved the construction of six courts at Harmony Park with a 5-2 vote on August 12.
Project Details
The new pickleball courts will be situated behind the existing tennis courts at Harmony Park. Due to the location of the new courts, the bocce ball courts will be relocated from three to two courts, and a basketball court will be moved to the north of the bocce ball courts.
Construction is expected to begin in early February, with the anticipated opening set for fall 2025, after an eight- to nine-month construction period.
