Pickleball and Fun Galore: Crush Yard, a new indoor pickleball facility in Kissimmee, Florida, is quickly becoming a hotspot for new and experienced pickleball players. The facility, which offers 10 indoor pickleball courts, opened recently just off U.S. 192, close to Walt Disney World. It combines sports, dining, and entertainment for a unique experience.
A New Pickleball Destination
The 48,000-square-foot venue, formerly a grocery store, offers indoor pickleball courts for players of all skill levels. With the growing popularity of pickleball in Central Florida, Crush Yard provides a space for seasoned athletes and beginners to play year-round, even in the heat of summer.
Unlike outdoor pickleball courts, which require players to bring their equipment, Crush Yard offers paddles and balls for rent, making it easier for new players to get started. Evan Addington, the facility’s director of pickleball, emphasizes the importance of creating a welcoming space for beginners.
“The best way for people who are brand new is just to get a feel for the ball. If you were to take one of our beginner classes, I’m not going to have you playing by the rules and keeping score.” – (Evan Addington)
“I’m going to teach you some basics like the space of the court, how to serve, how to return and how to get a point started.” – (Evan Addington)
Opportunities for Players of All Levels
While Crush Yard caters to experienced players with a membership program offering exclusive hours, the facility also provides plenty of opportunities for beginners to improve their pickleball technique.
Classes, drills, lessons, and camps are available for players at all levels. In addition, Crush Yard will soon roll out leagues that will allow players to compete based on their skill levels.
“It’s so easy to get into pickleball and it’s so difficult to master that you still have that level of challenge to it where it gets you hooked. You want to keep playing and progressing, but it’s not frustrating at the beginning.” – (Evan Addington)
Entertainment and Dining at Crush Yard
In addition to pickleball, Crush Yard offers arcade games, ping pong, air hockey, shuffleboard, and corn hole, providing a fun experience for everyone. Two private event spaces are available for birthday parties, corporate events, and banquets, with in-house catering available.
Visitors can enjoy a diverse menu featuring rice bowls, salads, pinsa pizzas, sliders, nachos, wings, and more. The bar offers 24 beers on tap, cocktails, wine, and seltzers, making it a great place for dining and socializing.
Hours and Pricing
Crush Yard Orlando operates Monday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to midnight, and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Court rentals are priced at $48 per hour, with classes starting at $30. Paddle rentals cost $6, while three balls are available for $10.
