The 2025 Maryland Senior Olympics Pickleball Tournament will take place from May 16 to May 18 at Dill Dinkers facilities in Finksburg and Columbia, Maryland. The event, open to players aged 50 and above, features men’s, women’s, and mixed doubles as well as singles matches. Registration is open until May 2, but spots are limited.
A Premier Pickleball Event
This year’s tournament is a non-qualifying event for the National Senior Games. However, it remains one of the Maryland Senior Olympics’ largest and most popular events. With pickleball’s growing popularity, organizers are offering three skill levels.
Division I (4.0 and above), Division II (3.5), and Division III (3.0 and below). Matches will follow a round-robin format, with some divisions or age groups combined for play.
Players can register online via PickleballBrackets.com. Maryland residents received priority registration starting January 22, while out-of-state participants were eligible to register from February 3. Entry fees are $50 for one event, with additional events costing $5 each.
Key Changes and Venue Details
This year introduces new registration requirements. Players must create a profile on PickleballBrackets.com, and partners must also register on the platform to complete team sign-ups.
Registration without a partner holds a player’s spot for 14 days, during which their partner must register to confirm participation.
The tournament will be split between the Dill Dinkers facilities in Finksburg and Columbia. Specific events will be assigned to each venue based on registrations, with doubles and singles separated by gender and age groups. Organizers reserve the right to adjust schedules, formats, or brackets to accommodate the event.
Expert Insights on Pickleball Growth
Tournament organizers emphasized the sport’s rapid expansion and its appeal to senior athletes. Despite 24 indoor courts available across both venues, slots fill quickly due to increasing demand. Participants are encouraged to register early.
Refund Policy and Additional Information
Refunds, minus a $15 processing fee, are available until May 2. After that date, no refunds will be issued. Should a partner drop out, waitlisted, fully registered teams will replace incomplete teams before registration closes.
This year’s event promises to bring together seasoned and rookie players, reflecting pickleball’s inclusive and community-driven nature. As the date approaches, participants are urged to prepare for an exciting weekend of competition and friendship.
